Concerned

I’m gravely concerned about some of the people who are reaching my blog through search engines.  A while ago I posted about the dangers of paracetamol overdose in response to the number of people reaching my blog by searching for whether it was a quick and/or painless way to die.  Since writing that post the number of people reaching my blog through these search terms has doubled.

To those of you considering a paracetamol overdose: PUT THE PARACETAMOL DOWN; IT IS NEITHER QUICK NOR PAINLESS AND YOU USUALLY END UP DYING OF LIVER FAILURE AFTER SOME DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS OR EVEN YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE YOU OVERDOSED, BY WHICH TIME YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT WANT TO DIE.  SEEK HELP; THERE IS A LIFE AFTER DEPRESSION!  DON’T KILL YOURSELF!

I say the above, having come through depression a number of times myself, each time where I have attempted or actively planed suicide.  Speak to your GP, get some help.  Speak to someone, please!  Depression doesn’t have the stigma it once did and there are plenty of professionals from doctors to counsellors willing to help you.

I knew a girl at school who was kinda my friend who took a whole mess of tylenol or advil or something (we call it those brands in the USA ..an over the counter painkiller anyways) and what a dumb broad. She didn’t die, she probably has a pretty shitty liver now. I don’t care she was a sucky person. A truely sucky person.
    But I was thinking of that the other day because my husband gets headaches alot and takes medicine more than he should and I got to thinking of that stupid girl and how her liver may fail. Its right up there with picking mushrooms and ingesting them. You might not die right away, you may die from liver failure many years down the line. People think just cuz they woke up the next day they’re in the clear.
