Diagnosis

I do apologise for my abrupt and recent absence.  I collapsed on the bus on my way to work on Tuesday morning and have been in hospital.  The good news is that they now know what is wrong with me.  I have been diagnosed with Pseudoseizures (also known as Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder).

Now out of hospital and taking a few days to get back into the swing of things!

    1. Thanks Andro.

I feel fine again, but that’s normal. I could have a seizure at any moment without any warning at all, which is a bit of a problem.

      1. Andro,

        It is, thankfully.

        Lost,

Thanks. Hopefully not, but hopefully i I do have a sudden attack and I’m with people who know me then it will not now result in the disrupting visits to Accident and Emergency – they were the thing that had the biggest impact upon my life. Neurologist said the only time I’d really need to go to A+E now is i they lasted substantially longer than normal or I did myself a serious injury whilst having a seizure.

  1. Glad you are ok, and that you know what it is!
Hopefully no more sudden attacks 🙂

  2. Aw that’s abit of a blow back.

It is treatable, quite sucessfully with one of a plethora of drugs. Seizures are probably some of the most awful things to experience, let alone the embarrassment of what you may do/say during them and whilst you’re coming around.

You should get yourself referred on to a Neurologist sharpish, if this isn’t your first attack. You’ll get on a treatment regeme which should get you fairly stable fairly quickly, then they’ll reassess. Doubt it’s epilepsy though.

Don’t get yourself worked up about it or you could precipitate a seizure.
