Age of Criminal Responsibility

I was just watching a piece on the BBC News website.  In it Chris Huhne, the Liberal Democrat Home Affairs Spokesperson said “we have the lowest age of criminal responsibility in Western Europe, ten…”

Well Mr Huhne, that is incorrect.  The age of criminal responsibility is different between England and Scotland.  In Scotland it is eight years old – I do believe that is younger than ten and therefore would make it the lowest age of criminal responsibility in Europe.  One further reason why the Lib Dems are in the political wilderness – they can’t even get their “facts” correct!
